AUCTION SIMULATION TOOL
The RepuTex ERF Auction Simulation Tool is a proprietary model which helps firms to gain a better understanding of how an ERF auction may work under a variety of settings. The Tool draws on RepuTex inputs for the supply of ACCUs from registered projects, bidder behaviour and auction settings – such as the benchmark price, total ACCU supply and the variable volume threshold – in order to simulate a series of auction outcomes and pricing scenarios.
The value of the simulator comes from gaining a better understanding of how an ERF auction may work in a variety of plausible (or implausible) scenarios, enabling the formation of a ‘safe bidding range’ and a deeper understanding of the trade-offs of bidding strategy.
