PRICE SIMULATIONS

RepuTex ERF auction price simulations help offset proponents and market stakeholders to more clearly understand ACCU supply and pricing dynamics ahead of each auction event. We have worked with over 50 per cent of all supply bid into the ERF auction process, forecasting expected auction clearing prices (average and highest contract prices) and bid price spreads to better inform optimal bidding and arbitrage opportunities.

AUCTION MODEL

ERF SIMULATION TOOL

Our ERF price simulation services are underpinned by our ERF Auction Simulation Tool, which helps firms to gain a better understanding of how an ERF auction may work under a variety of settings. The Tool draws on RepuTex inputs for the supply of ACCUs from registered projects, bidder behaviour and auction settings – such as the benchmark price and the variable volume threshold – in order to simulate a series of auction outcomes and pricing scenarios.

The value of the simulator comes from gaining a better understanding of how an ERF auction may work in a variety of plausible (or implausible) scenarios, enabling the formation of a ‘safe bidding range’ and a deeper understanding of the trade-offs of bidding strategy.
