Service Background >>
RepuTex electricity market analysis has been at the forefront of major energy policy developments for over two decades, supporting key measures such as the Australian Government’s Powering Australia plan, state targets and policy initiatives, and Australia’s 82% renewable energy target.
As the local landscape for energy investment changes, our Electricity Intelligence service provides traders, investors, policymakers and large C&I buyers with a deeper understanding of future dynamics in the National Electricity Market (NEM), underpinned by our proprietary NEMRES dispatch and simulation model.
Australian Electricity Outlook >>
RepuTex wholesale electricity price forecasts are packaged into our quarterly Australian Electricity Outlook (AEO), which forecasts prices in each region of the NEM over both medium-term (16 quarters) and long-term horizons (20 years). Analysis includes full depth of our modelling outcomes, such as regional change in capacity, generation mix, emissions, emissions intensity, and underlying inputs and assumptions.
Scenario analysis and ISP alignment >>
Our AEO presents our Central Case or in-house view of market development in each region of the NEM, along with sensitivities for key areas of uncertainty, such as alternative wind years, coal outages and reliability.
We also consider alternative scenarios for market development aligned to AEMO’s Integrated System Plan (ISP), including price pathways and market outcomes under AEMO’s “Step Change” and “Progressive” scenarios.
Emissions and emissions intensity >>
Our modelling includes detailed outputs for absolute emissions and emissions intensity across each region of the NEM over our full 20-year forecast horizon, along with scenarios, underpinned by our expected changes in capacity.
Changes in capacity >>
Access our underlying databases, including our renewable energy project pipeline (announced, committed, and projects in commissioning), storage additions, and expected changes in capacity, including announced and modelled coal closures and other capacity additions.
