Our latest Carbon Weekly report has now been published, reviewing activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the period June 17 – 21 2024.
Our assessments for both Generic ACCUs and Human Induced Regeneration (HIR) ACCUs rebounded last week, marked by record daily volumes for Generic No-Avoided Deforestation (No-AD) ACCUs on Tuesday, which coincided with a significant jump in bid levels throughout the day. This flurry of activity saw weekly volumes outperform our year-to-date (YTD) average by 50% before trading tapered off in the latter stages of the week. Meanwhile, our analysis indicates that 758,588 credits were issued last week (not 1.35 million reported by the Clean Energy Regulator, containing duplicates), with soil carbon issued for the first time since September 2023.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessments, method spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments. Analysis considers the Australian market along with international registries including Verra, Gold Standard, the American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve.
