Our latest Carbon Weekly report reviews activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the period September 30 – October 4 2024.
The Australian carbon market again saw traded volumes rise back above 1 million units last week, driven by strong activity in the derivatives market. Activity was led by options trading, which continues to build in both volume and length, with 40% of our annually reported options volumes traded since September 1. In the spot market, Generic and HIR ACCUs continue to test recent support levels, while current tightness across the two most liquid pricing baskets is expected to hold.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessments, method spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments. Analysis considers the Australian market along with international registries including Verra, Gold Standard, the American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve.
