The Australian carbon market settled higher last week, with activity rebounding week-on-week, yet holding marginally below the year-to-date (YTD) weekly average. Generic ACCUs again tested $38.00/t – a level that has now marked the YTD high on four sessions in 2026 – before selling capped the move, reinforcing a firm band of resistance. In the direct market, notable activity included trading of Native Forest Managed Regrowth (NFMR) ACCUs, which forms the basis of Module 1 under the proposed new Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM) method.

Total traded volumes across the Australian exchange-traded and over the counter (OTC) carbon markets lifted to 555k last week (313k WoW), marginally below the year-to-date (YTD) weekly average (550k).
