Our latest Carbon Weekly report has now been published, reviewing activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the period 14 – 18 October 2024.
Momentum persisted in the Australian Carbon Credit (ACCU) market, with traded volumes remaining well above year to date averages, driven by strong activity in both spot and derivatives markets. Generic ACCU prices climbed to their highest since May 2023, while HIR ACCUs continue to approach YTD highs. Derivatives trading was led by forward strips, and the CME ACCU futures saw its first block trade. Issuance rebounded to year-to-date averages, with Human Induced Regeneration projects leading the way.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessments, method spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments. Analysis considers the Australian market along with international registries including Verra, Gold Standard, the American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve.
