Our latest Carbon Weekly report has now been published, reviewing activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the period 4 – 8 Mar 2024.
A late swathe of trading delivered the busiest week in the ACCU market since early January, with Friday’s activity marking a 13-month high for daily spot volumes dating back to 17 January 2023, led by continuing strong interest for Generic products. The market saw further convergence as Human Induced Regeneration traded down on lighter volumes, whilst Generics lifted backed by a year to date high for weekly volumes. Last week also saw the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA) introduce draft contracts for one-off spot and forward ACCU transactions, as well as a standard Master Agreement to engage in OTC derivative transactions, a key development to standardise documentation governing the OTC market.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessment by method, spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments. Analysis considers the Australian market along with international registries including Verra, Gold Standard, the American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve.
