UPDATE: Lower aggregate volumes and smaller parcel sizes see ACCU prices ease over the week

Our latest Carbon Weekly report has now been published, reviewing activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the week 20 – 24 November 2023.

Prices across the brokered spot ACCU market eased slightly last week, led by Human Induced Regeneration (HIR) units. Trading over the week was symbolised by lower aggregate volumes and smaller parcel sizes, with participants taking a breather as total month to date volumes for November approach highs not seen since January 2023.

ACCU prices ease on light volumes, HIR/Generic holds near 3 month average as the HIR price slides

The spot market for Generic ACCUs (low-cost emissions avoidance projects) eased slightly over the week to $30.90/t, before reverting back to the well-established support of $31/t on Friday to end the week flat. Whilst Generic volumes held relatively consistent, the lighter overall volume across the spot market, particularly for Generic ACCUs
