Our latest Carbon Weekly report has now been published, reviewing activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the period 29 Jan – 2 Feb 2024.
Trading was light across the ACCU market last week, with muted activity seeing the Generic/HIR spread compress as HIR units slipped and Generic prices firmed later in the week. January concluded with similar total traded monthly volumes to December 2023, while ACCU voluntary cancellations fell. Despite this, new climate-related financial reporting obligations continue to drive interest from new and existing buyers in more premium natured based sequestration ACCU methods.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessment by method, spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments. Analysis considers the Australian market along with international registries including Verra, Gold Standard, the American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve.
