MARKET MONTHLY: More consistent support sees ACCU prices shift higher over April relative to seasonal trends

Australian carbon prices grew steadily over April on early compliance demand, with more consistent support seeing prices shift materially higher relative to seasonal trends. Total traded volumes of 1.65M were reported via our Survey Panel in April. Notably, increased activity was reported for Savanna Fire Management (SFM) ACCUs with Indigenous co-benefits and Plantation Forestry ACCUs, impacting our reported prices and differentials for these key methods.

This monthly State of the Australian Carbon Market report provides a detailed review of activity in the ACCU spot and derivative markets over the past month, including pricing and traded volumes for spot, forward and options, market depth, net market holdings (inventory), and our OTC ACCU forward curves.
