REPORT: Publication of Australian Decarbonisation Investment Review – H1 2026

Analysis indicates that Australian decarbonisation investment is expected to decline for a second consecutive year in 2026, with $3.23 billion of new committed investment recorded in the first half of the year – putting investment on track to remain below both 2025 levels and the 2024 peak.

Findings also indicate that the composition of investment is changing, with capital increasingly flowing towards mature, near-term technologies, while investment in larger and more capital-intensive decarbonisation opportunities has slowed.

RepuTex’s Australian Decarbonisation Investment Review – H1 2026 tracks capital flows across 8 technology groups, 26 sectors and more than 330 decarbonisation projects, providing a bottom-up view of investment across Australia’s low-carbon transition.

Analysis captures committed investment and the broader announced project pipeline, including technology investment trends, funding sources, sector and regional breakdowns, and expected greenhouse gas emissions abatement.

The report is published under our Energy Transition service, with underlying project-level intelligence available through the Decarbonisation Investment Tracker on EnergyIQ.
