Calm on the ACCU market as volumes drop
After a fortnight of active trading, the ACCU market was more muted over the past week as participants took stock of recent volatility after the transition into the new financial year. Of the methodologies that traded, the majority only saw one or two trades throughout the week, and minor moves with no clear direction.
After the previous week’s collapse and subsequent rally closed at $28.75/t, Generic ACCUs (low-cost avoidance) closed the week down 2.6% at $28.00/t after 50,000 units transacted on Tuesday on the brokered markets.
No AD (Avoided Deforestation) Generics saw the majority of volumes transacted with 95,000 trading as prices rose throughout the week, but closed at $28.50/t, down 1.7% on
