UPDATE: ACCU market sees 1M units traded in a day, as traded prices reach 16-month highs

Our latest Carbon Weekly report reviews activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the period 9 – 13 September 2024.

Last week saw momentum accelerate once again across the Australian carbon market, with over 1M ACCUs traded (across both spot and derivatives) within a single day for the first time on record. This pushed our Generic ACCU (Benchmark) assessment to equal a year to date high, while intraday prices reached a 16-month high dating back to May 2023. Meanwhile, trading in Environmental Plantings and Savanna Fire Management ACCUs showed greater price convergence with Generic ACCUs, while new reports
