Next week’s first Emissions Reduction Fund auction looms as the moment-of-truth for the Federal Government – and the Clean Energy Regulator – with the outcome of the first auction to have major implications for the long-term success of the Coalition’s climate policy, and the ongoing shape of ACCU supply.

As we have indicated in recent updates, the benchmark price set by the Clean Energy Regulator in the first auction will be a major factor for the market, with the potential to either lift or deflate ACCU supply over the following 12-18 months depending on how the market views the Regulator’s ambition.
