Our latest Carbon Weekly report has now been published, reviewing activity in the Australian and international carbon markets for the week 11 – 15 December 2023.
Activity across the ACCU market slipped last week with trading well down from the heightened action of the week prior. Pricing was mixed, with Generic ACCUs trading up on light volumes while Human Induced Regeneration (HIR) ACCUs, the dominant method traded on the week, eased slightly. In this update, we review activity over the past week, and look back at the year that was for the ACCU market, with the maturing of the market shown by deeper volumes and an easing in volatility. While prices slightly fell on the year, the Australian carbon market outperformed other national compliance schemes – with the exception of the Chinese ETS – including the EU and UK ETS, and New Zealand market.
RepuTex’s Carbon Weekly report analyses recent activity in the Australian and international voluntary carbon markets, including our ACCU spot price assessment by method, spreads, forward activity, traded volumes, and key market developments. Analysis considers the Australian market along with international registries including Verra, Gold Standard, the American Carbon Registry, and the Climate Action Reserve.
